Today was the warmest day of May and the first 90s of the month were felt in portions of central Louisiana.
Friday began muggy with lows ranging from the middle 60s to the lower 70s. The lowest temperatures this morning came from the local area, with Esler Airport at 65 degrees and Woodworth, Hineston, and AEX at 66. The highest temperatures were noted over the western sections with Peason Ridge and Aloha with 71 degrees.
Afternoon highs ranged from the middle 80s to the lower 90s. The cool spots were Marksville, Hineston, Bentley, Fairfield, and Ville Platte with 86 degrees. The first 90s of May were registered at Anacoco and Bellwood at 91 degrees, and Simpson and Hagewood with 90. The humidity was also high, with dew points around 70 degrees, which gave a distinct muggy feel to the air.
The weekend offers really no changes; you can expect a steady southerly breeze, slightly higher than normal temperatures, and little or no wind.
