Today was the warmest day of the year at many central Louisiana destinations.
The day began very warm and muggy with lows averaging in the middle 70s. The thermometer at Esler Airport only fell to 77 degrees while Natchez, Miss. was at 72. The 30-year average is 65 degrees.
The afternoon brought a mix of 80s and 90s with Winnfield, Hagewood, and Esler reporting 92 degrees. The 30-year average is 86 degrees. High humidity made the air feel even warmer.
Tuesday offers little change to the ongoing weather pattern; however, thunderstorms will be possible Tuesday night and Wednesday.
