It's only early June but it felt like July as temperatures climbed to above seasonal levels on Wednesday.
The day began muggy with low temperatures ranging from the upper 60s to the middle 70s. Leesville and Anacoco were the cool spots with 68 degrees, but Eunice and the Good Earth subdivision in Alexandria only dropped to 75 degrees.
Afternoon highs were in the 90s areawide, with Bellwood reporting 96 degrees. Anacoco, Many, and Pine Prairie all hit 95 today. Natchez, Miss. was the cool spot with 90 degrees. These readings are well short of the record of 101 set in 2011.
A cold front will approach the area Thursday and should be able to stir up at least scattered showers and thunderstorms.
