The big weather story this week is the heat! Temperatures will warm into the upper 90's for the first time this season as high pressure ridges into Cenla. As the high temperatures combine with the humidity, the heat index will warm into the upper 90's to lower 100's throughout this week. If you're outside for long periods of time make sure to wear light colored clothing, drink plenty of water, and take frequent breaks!
Computer models are in disagreement as to what will happen towards the end of the week. Some are hinting at a back door cold front pushing in from the northeast, bringing a decent chance for showers and thunderstorms. Others have the front sliding by us to the north and keeping most of the rain out of our area. We'll just have to keep an eye on things until then.
As for the tropics, everything remains quiet this week. However, we are still forecasting an active season in the Atlantic Basin so expect things to heat up at some point this summer.
Stay cool Cenla!
