The heat continues this week in Central Louisiana. Over the next few days we'll see temperatures remain in the mid to upper 90's, with heat index values 100-105 degrees. A weak "backdoor" cold front will approach us from the NE bringing a chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms on Friday. We could also see a few sprinkles late Thursday night.
The weekend forecast looks nice so far. Expect plenty of sunshine with warm temperatures and low rain chances.
Don't expect the front to cool us down much. Temperatures will remain in the 90's for our highs as far as we can see in the seven day planner. For lows, expect the lower to mid 70's.
If you're outside for long periods of time this week take frequent breaks, drink plenty of water, and wear light colored clothing.
Stay cool if you can!
