TROPICAL STORM BARRY

Tropical Storm Barry formed from TD #2 early this afternoon. Here is the critical information summary for Barry:

LOCATION...19.6 North  95.8 West or about 40 miles NE of Veracruz, Mexico

MOVEMENT...west, on a compass heading of 270 degrees, at 6 mph.

INTENSITY...the maximum sustained windspeed is 45 mph and the central pressure is 29.68 inches

OUTLOOK...Barry is expected to continue moving generally westward with a decrease in forward speed. Barry should reach the coast of the State of Veracruz Thursday morning.  No significant change in strength is expected prior to landfall.

EFFECTS...Barry will be a rainmaker for southern Mexico. Rainfall amounts may reach 10 inches and this could trigger flash floods and mudslides, especially in mountainous areas.

Elsewhere in the Tropical Atlantic, no other systems are being monitored.
