TROPICAL UPDATE-DAY #34 - KALB-TV News Channel 5 & CBS 2

Posted: Updated:

Clouds and convection extend from the Bay of Campeche north-northeastward across the eastern Gulf of Mexico to the Florida Peninsula. The action is being triggered by a broad trough of surface low pressure. Tropical development is not expected with this system, mainly because of high-level wind shear.

Elsewhere, the Tropical Atlantic remains quiet and none of our global forecast models predict a named storm through the middle of next week.
