One man is honored for 50 years of community service

  ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – The Alexandria Lions Club gives man award for more than 50 years of community service.

David Caplan’s  was recognized for 50 years of community service as an Alexandria Lion, he was presented with a 50-Year Member Award, a Lifetime Achievement Award, and a Lifetime Membership to Lions Club International.

 Caplan has held several positions such as Zone Chairman, Vice President and President from 1974-75.  Caplan has received numerous recognitions and awards such as the Senior Master Key which is given for bringing in over 25 new members to the club.

The Alexandria Lions Club is composed of civic-minded men and women that volunteer their time and efforts to various humanitarian causes throughout our community.

The Alexandria Lions Club formed on March 11, 1929.

Membership in a Lions Club is by invitation.  If you are interested in joining or would like to learn how to serve the community you can attend a quest meeting.
