Marksville man arrested for allegedly distributing drugs

MARKSVILLE, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - According to Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's Department a man was arrested late Thursday for allegedly trafficking drugs in the Marksville area.

Thirty-year old, Troy Dominick of Marksville was arrested after an investigation in the Marsville area by the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's narcotics investigators.

Dominick was reportedly arrested for having suspected heroin, powdered cocaine, and five dosage units of Roxicontin  in his possession.

A search of Dominick's residence reportedly revealed additional suspected heroin, 64 dosage units of Roxicontin and Xanax, powdered cocaine, approximately 32 rocks of suspected crack cocaine, marijuana and a Ruger 9mm semi-auto handgun.

Deputies said they seized $15,550 in cash believed to be the proceeds of illicit narcotic trafficking.

Dominick has numerous prior arrests relating to narcotics and crimes of violence.

Dominick was booked into the Avoyelles Sheriff's Office  and charged with the possession of schedule I, IV CDS with Intent to distribute, resisting an officer, resisting an officer by force or violence, and  possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He was also charged with cruelty to juveniles and obstruction of justice.

No bond has been set.

The investigation is ongoing.
