ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) –According to Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office, on July 11, deputies pulled over a man for a cracked windshield near Donald Drive in Alexandria.

Deputies said the windshield was impairing the driver's view.  The driver, Jamar Price reportedly lied about his identity to deputies at first.

Price and his passenger, Jamarcus James were both reportedly nervous while being briefed on the violation.

Price reportedly gave deputies the consent to search the vehicle. Deputies said they found a plastic bag containing suspected crack cocaine in the vehicle.

Both James and Price denied ownership of the plastic bag.

The men were taken into custody and transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center.

Price was charged with possession of CDS II.

James was charged with possession of CDS II and possession of stolen goods worth $500 or more.

Price was released on a $5,000.00 bond.

James was released on a $7,500.00 bond.

The investigation is ongoing.
