Compressional warming ahead of a cold front sent temperatures upward for much of central Louisiana today.
Low temperatures were a bit lower thanks to Thursday's rain. Lows ranged from the upper 60s to the middle 70s. Natchez, Miss. and Jena both fell to 69 degrees but Hagewood, Many, and Bellwood only managed 74 degrees. The daily average is 73 degrees.
Afternoon highs were in the 90s, except at Hagewood and Bellwod where the century mark was attained. Natchez, Miss. was the cool spot with a high of only 91 degrees. The daily average is 92 degrees but a historic heat wave in 1901 sent the thermometer to 107 degrees.
We get a brief break from the heat Saturday morning as lows fall into the 60s in most areas. Enjoy the comfortable weather!
