"It's really cool to be recognized, especially among the people from my home state that I really do, I respect their talent, you expect me to say it, but it is, it's really humbling." Said Brooks.

A special night for brooks, and a pair of local artists.

"My brother Steve Kahn, who is originally from Pineville, is playing keyboards tonight along with a high school chum Danny Milliner who's playing bass tonight so it's time to see some hometown guys." Said Molly Wiley.

"There's tons of people that's come out of Louisiana, talented people, writers singers performers, and to be mentioned or to be inducted is a huge deal for him." Said Danny Milliner, bassist and band leader for Kix Brooks.

"It means a lot to me to come back and to not just be with family and friends, that's always fun like you're playing in the living room but to be recognized tonight is really cool." Said Brooks.

During his time with Brooks & Dunn, Kix Brooks earned more CMA and CMT awards than any other artist in the history of country music.
