ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5)- A group of young dancers is headed on a trip around the world - without ever leaving Cenla.

Just Dance studio in Alexandria kicked off its Destination Dance camp today.

The campers are experiencing these different cultures by listening to traditional music and learning the dance styles from across the continents.

Organizers say it's a great way for kids to be exposed to types of dance they otherwise may not get the chance to learn.

"All of these kids and a lot of kids in our area get tap, jazz, ballet- the things that they're used to. These kids are getting exposure to Indian style dance, South American styles of dance like Latin dance, different folk dances from Europe. So they're getting exposed to different styles of dance from all over the world that normally they wouldn't get to experience," says instructor Katie February.

The current camp session runs through Friday - but they'll be offering an additional session for the tiny tots in just a couple of weeks.
