Three arrested for allegedly stealing a four wheeler

BOYCE, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - According to Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to Boyce in reference to a four wheeler theft.

Deputies said that on July 16, around 7:30 a.m., they made contact with the complaint. The complaint reportedly said that sometime after 9p.m., the night before, someone came onto the property and took his 2007 Red Honda 250. 

RPSO Detectives from Boyce Sub-Station were called to the scene.  There reportedly have been a number of four wheeler thefts in the area.

 After further investigation by deputies and detectives, a four wheeler matching the description was located at a home on River Rd. The owner of the residence Bobby Lynn Rachal Jr. claimed not to know anything about the four wheeler.

At this time a man and a woman came from behind the house.  The man was identified as Ricky Brence. He reportedly tried to flee from officers on foot.

Rachal and the woman were placed into custody until the investigation was complete.

Deputies said, the vehicle identification number on the four wheeler matched the one that was reported stolen.

Around this time, deputies received another complaint in the area in reference to criminal damage.  The complainant stated there were damages done to irrigation pipes in the soy bean field off of Jimmy Brown Road and it appeared it was done by a four wheeler. 

According to detectives, evidence suggested that a four wheeler was in the complaints soy bean field.

Detectives arrested Rachal and a short time later Brence.  Detectives also stated one Christopher Turner on a variety of charges related to four wheeler theft.

Rachal, Brence and Turner were transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center.

Rachal, 27 is being charged with possession of stolen goods worth $1500. He is being held on a $10,000.

Brence , 32 is being charged with theft  worth $1500, criminal trespass, and accessory after the fact . He is being held on a $20,250.

Turner, 26 is being charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, criminal trespass and three counts of criminal damage between $ 500 to $50000. He is being held on a $15,750 bond.

The female was released and not charged. 

The investigation is ongoing.
