Leesville man arrested for violating probation

LEESVILLE, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – According to Leesville Police Department, a Leesville man was arrested for violating his probation.

On July 15, an officer went to the Vernon Correctional center to active warrants on 53-year-old Clyde Elbert King of Leesville.

King's warrants were reportedly due to an incident that occurred in October of 2012.

Both probation and parole officer and a Leesville Police officer were dispatched to King's home. King was said to be sitting on his front porch, he spotted officers and attempted to flee.

He was caught and placed under arrest by the probation and parole officer and a search was conducted at King's residence. During the search, suspected cocaine was located. King was arrested for Schedule II for distribution of drugs, manufacture, or possession with intent to distribute, and contempt of court.

King was arrested and transported to the Leesville Police Department to be booked in the Leesville City Jail.

His bond was set at $15,000, but bond was denied for the violation of probation.
