RPSO: An investigation leads to arrest of meth supplier

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – An undercover investigation leads to the arrest of a major supplier of meth in Alexandria.  This is according to the Rapides Parish Office.

Detectives said they have been keeping surveillance on one 39-year-old Claude Anthony Richey of Dallas, Texas.  Richey was reportedly bringing methamphetamine in from Dallas to Rapides Parish.

According to RPSO, on July 18, Richey arrived at a hotel on north MacArthur Drive. Teams in both unmarked and marked units confronted Richey in the parking lot. Richey was said to have approximately two and half ounces of methamphetamine and $3,200 in cash his possession.

The methamphetamine was said to be worth approximately $8,000. 

Richey was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center.   He is being charged with possession of CDS II to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was later released on a $10,250 bond.
