The main weather feature which will dominate our weather pattern is the area of high pressure situated to our south in the gulf. The high pressure will keep most of the thunderstorms at bay, however our temperatures will be increasing to the mid and even upper 90s. You can assume that heat indices will be well above 100. The recent rainfall that we received last week has wet the ground, thus keeping dew points high. High dew points are indicative to the amount of moisture in the atmosphere. If dew points are high, then there is a lot of moisture. Evaporation is a cooling mechanism and it becomes harder for sweat to evaporate if there is already a bunch of moisture in the air. To sum it up, it's going to be hot, so be sure to stay hydrated and stay cool, Alexandria.
