Simmesport business owner arrested on drug charges

SIMMESPORT, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – A Simmesport man has been arrested after a large quantity of cocaine was found at his pit stop. This is according to the  Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's Department.

According to APSO, 38-year-old Aaron Wallace was arrested on Tuesday, July 23, after deputies found approximately 23 grams of suspected crack cocaine and approximately 11 grams of powdered cocaine in his possession.

Deputies said they received a tip that Wallace was distributing drugs at his place of business. This prompted an investigation. Deputies also said they observed a suspected transaction from behind the counter minutes before executing a search warrant.

The business was said to be Patrice's Pit Stop.

Wallace was booked into the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's Office and changed with one count of  distribution of CDS II and possession of CDS II with intent to distribute.

Bond has not been set.
