Tropical Storm Dorian continues in the eastern Atlantic. Dorian is located near latitude 16.5 North and longitude 37.8 West, or about 1670 miles east of the northern Leeward Islands. Movement is toward the WNW, on a compass heading of 290 degrees, at 18 mph. The maximum sustained wind has increased to 60 mph.
Dorian is expected to continue WNW through Friday but may take a gradual turn to the west late Friday night or Saturday. Some slight strengthening is forecasted as the storm moves over slightly warmer waters.
