Winnfield teen arrested for burglary

NATCHITOCHES, La. (KALB News Channel  5) - Detectives have arrested a  Winnfield teenager for burglary.

According to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's detectives, Jeremy Coltyn Babers, 17, has been charged with two counts of simple burglary and two counts of simple criminal damage to property.

NPSO Deputies responded to two camp burglaries reported in the 500 block of Carroll Camp Road in Saline, near Black Lake on March 27, 2013.

Deputies said, entry was gained by kicking in the front door of one camp house and by breaking the side window of another.  A rifle, two shotguns, Minn Kota outboard trolling motor, and bb gun were reported stolen. Most of the stolen items have been said to be recovered. However, the bb gun has not been located.

The Winn Parish Sheriff's Deputies were also investigating a rash of burglaries in then Winn Parish area; when they discovered some of the items taken in the Natchitoches Parish burglaries.

Detectives said, they interviewed  three suspects in the cases, and were able to obtain sufficient probable cause to secure arrest warrants for Barbers.

Babers was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center on July 18.

Bond is set at $13,000.
