TURKEY CREEK, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – It started with meth and a few accusations of indecent conduct with a minor. From there it turned into an attempt on one's life and ended with two arrests.

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested Christine Fontenot for sexual battery, as well as indecent behavior with a juvenile. William Ford was also arrested for attempted manslaughter and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Deputies said they were dispatched to a residence in the Turkey Creek area on July 21. Deputies located a vehicle in the woods and the driver of the vehicle had reportedly fled the scene.

According to deputies, Ford became angry with Fontenot due to allegations that Ford's family had made towards Fontenot. His family reportedly accused Fontenot of indecent conduct with a minor.

Ford proceeded to grab a shotgun from inside the residence. He began firing shots at Fontenot. Fontenot attempted to leave the property in her car. She brushed a tree with her car and then ran it off an embankment. She was said from there to have fled into the woods, but was located shortly afterwards by deputies.

Ford and Fontenot were both allegedly under the influence of meth.

Ford admitted to firing at Fontenot.

Fontenot suffered minor injuries and was later admitted to deputies that she did have indecent behavior with a minor.

Ford was placed under arrest, and transported to the parish jail and booked. He was charged with attempted manslaughter and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Detectives arrested Fontenot on July 23 for sexual battery as well as indecent behavior with a juvenile. She was booked into the parish jail.
