The week ended on a seasonally hot note across central Louisiana.
Several locations awoke to a glorious start with lows in the 60s. Natchez, Miss. fell all the way down to 65 degrees. Winnfield and Jena reported 68 degrees. Other locations were not as fortunate-Charles Park in Alexandria was the warm spot with 76 degrees.
Afternoon highs were mostly in the lower to the middle 90s. The exception was Natchez, Miss. with a high of 88 degrees. Bellwood, Woodworth, Esler Airport, and Ville Platte shared the honor of being the warm spot with highs of 95 degrees.
A few showers and thunderstorms developed over the eastern parishes. Plaucheville reported 0.30 inches, Jena saw around a quarter of an inch, and Simmesport measured 0.08 inches.
A convective system will affect central Louisiana Friday night through Saturday. This system promises to bring rain to most locations, hence, I have 80% coverage. Locally heavy rainfall is possible-I expect peak totals to reach 2-3 inches.
Have a good weekend!
