Police: Three suspected serial burglars arrested

ALEXANDRIA, La.  (KALB News Channel 5) – Police say they have arrested the culprits responsible for a string of burglaries in the Alexandria area.

Billy Ray Reed has been charged with 11 counts of simple burglary. This adds to an already long list of charges for Reed, according to the Alexandria Police Department.

In addition to Reed's arrest, Shawn Torres, 29 of Alexandria has been charged with eight counts of simple burglary. Christina Bolgiano, 28 of Pollock has also been charged with three counts of simple burglary.

According to APD, detectives have been working on an ongoing investigation in connection with an outbreak of burglaries in the area.

On July 9, Reed was charged with two counts of unauthorized entry in a place of business, one count of auto theft, one count aggravated flight and resisting an officer.

 He was also charged with one count driving under suspension, one count no insurance, one count hit and run, and one count of improper display of license plate.

Many of his charges are said to stem from a string of commercial burglaries and a vehicle theft on June 29, 2013.

No other details have been released at this time.
