BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Baton Rouge Police have arrested a 19-year-old man accused of trying to kill his pregnant girlfriend.

Cpl. L'Jean McKneely says officers arrested Gregory Williams, of Baton Rouge, after the shooting around 1:30 a.m. Friday at Kings Court Apartments.

Investigators say Williams shot his 20-year-old girlfriend multiple times in the head and once in the shoulder after an argument, then fled the scene.

McKneely says the victim, whose name was not released, was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries, but is expected to survive.
