Theft investigation turns into drug arrest for an Oakdale man

GLENMORA, La. (KALB News Channel 5 ) – A theft investigation turns into a drug arrest.

 The Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office said they were assisting Allen Parish authorities in a theft investigation, when deputies discovered meth in 28-year-old Jeremy Herbert's possession.

According to RPSO, on August 6, deputies contacted Herbert of Oakdale for an outstanding warrant through Allen Parish for contempt of court.  After he was taken into custody, methamphetamine was located in Hebert's pocket.

Deputies also said they, located ammonia nitrate, Coleman fuel, lye, acid and coffee filters.  Methamphetamine pipes and digital scales were found in Herbert's vehicle.

Hebert was booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center.  His bond is set at $25,250.

He is being charged with possession of CDS II, creation operation of clandestine lab, manufacture of CDS II, possession of drug paraphernalia, and contempt warrant.
