GOHSEP Preparing Cenla for Disaster

Posted: Updated:

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – The Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, or GOHSEP, held a workshop for Cenla Police, Fire, Emergency Responders and others focused on keeping the public safe.

The workshop walked representatives from all branches of emergency response through the keys to responding to a crisis. The participants also got the chance to break into groups and work together on practical exercises.

"With all of the agencies from the different local communities, from the OAP directors to law enforcement fire and others, really trying to help in the training aspect of how we facilitate, what are our threats, and our risk and our capabilities to respond." Said Kevin Davis, GOHSEP Director.

The GOHSEP workshop was made possible through a Federal grant and will travel throughout Louisiana.
