Friday's Weekend Riding Planner
This weekend, expect some relief from the oppressive conditions. This relief is long overdue. We will see scattered showers and a few thunderstorms beginning on Friday (with rising chances) and lasting through early Monday (as chances become slight). This rain event will be Hit & Miss but closer to what we normally see for this time of the year. All of this happens as a ridge of High Pressure that is anchored over the NW GoM breaks down and gives way to a slowly approaching tropical wave from the SE and a weak front from the NW. These systems will weaken and fizzle out, but not before giving us some much needed rain throughout Cenla.
Temperatures will fall back into the mid 90s with the additional cloud cover. However, a very tropical air-mass will keep extreme humidity values in the air and Heat Index values will settle in the 105 degree range. Winds will be light to moderate and mainly out of the South and it will be important to stay hydrated as this oppressive heat continues with only a little relief.
