PINEVILLE, La. (KALB News Channel  5 ) – A Pineville man has been arrested for allegedly stealing automobile parts.

According to Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office, Mark Anthony Earnest, 41, is in jail tonight for stealing automobile parts from his employer.

Deputies with the Deville Sub Station were dispatched on August 9, in reference to a possible theft. The victim stated he suspected one of his employees of stealing from him. He believed the thefts began in April of 2013. The thefts estimated to be more than $4,000.

Through the investigation, deputies said they learned that Earnest was taking the parts to scarp yards to sell them.  Deputies also said that the scarp yards helped identify Earnest.

Earnest was taken to the Rapides Parish Detention Center. He is being charged with one count of theft over $1,500 and failure to pay a fine warrant. The fine is through the town of Ball.

The investigation is ongoing.
