The new week began wet for some folks Monday as scattered showers and thunderstorms moved through central Louisiana.
Several locations reported over one inch of rain, including Kolin with 1.27; Lecompte and Union Hill/Glenmora with 1.10. The Kolin storm was borderline severe, with 50 mph wind, frequent lightning, and an inch of rain in 15 minutes.
The scattered rain caused a variable temperature pattern. Oakdale only saw 87 degrees for a high temperature, while the corridor of heat continued with highs in the middle/upper 90s from DeRidder northward into Natchitoches.
A cold front is expected to move into central Louisiana Thursday. The chance for rain will remain high Tuesday through Thursday as the front moves through the area.
