A search for a fugitive leads to the arrest of two women

DEVILLE, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – During a search for a male fugitive, deputies’ wind up arresting two women in the process.

According to Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office, they arrested Brittany Laice Gonzales, 23 and Connie Denise Gonzales, 49 both of Deville on August 9th for contempt of court and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies responded to a home in Deville looking for a wanted man. They arrived at the home of Connie Gonzales. Deputies said they briefed her on the search and that this was the last known address of the wanted fugitive.

Deputies observed a marijuana “bong” near the front door of the residence and began preparing a search warrant.  Deputies also said that in the open was five marijuana plants intermingled with normal garden plants.

It was also discovered that another woman, Brittany Gonzales was home and she had active warrants for contempt of court.

Both women were taken into custody. They were transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center.

Brittany Gonzales was released on a $1,500 bond.  Connie Gonzales was released on a $5,250 bond.

Connie Gonzales is being charged with one count of possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to manufacture/cultivation.

Brittany Laice Gonzales is being charged with contempt of court warrant.

No other information was given on the male fugitive at this time.
