Back to School Breakfast

Posted: Updated:

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5)- It was back to school this morning for some teachers at J.I. Barron Elementary School.

The school held a special breakfast for the teachers, faculty and staff. Also on hand - some of the first faculty and staff who were there when the school opened in 1963.

The very first principal of the school- Robert Cespiva - was there and he says that it's great to see J.I. Barron continue to grow in a positive way.

"It makes me feel good. It makes me feel good. Oh I mean it has changed a lot and they look like they have a real good faculty and I kid them about it, I said we started out good so you better keep going. I think this is probably one of the best schools in the parish and definitely one of the best in the state," says Cespiva.

Superintendent Tony Authement and school board member Steve Barry also attended the breakfast.
