TIOGA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – An Arizona man has been arrested for alleged indecent behavior with minors and his wife has been arrested for being an assesory.

The Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office says they have arrested Kyle Smith Hauenstein, 38, of Phoenix, Ariz., for alleged indecent behavior with juveniles.

His wife, Christel Boling Rice Hauenstein, 38, of Phoenix, Ariz., has also been arrested for allegedly being an accessory to the crimes.

Another investigation involving child pornography, led to Hauenstein, according to detectives. The investigation led to evidence that he had committed multiple criminal sexual acts upon juvenile family members while in Pineville. Detectives also believe his wife had knowledge of the crimes.

Detectives obtained arrest warrants, but soon learned Hauenstein  and  his wife fled the Rapides Parish with the victims.

On August 7, U.S. Marshalls located Hauenstein at his parent's residence in Washington County, Oregon.  He was taken into custody in Oregan. He is still awaiting extradition back to Rapides Parish.

On August 12, U.S. Marshalls and Rapides Parish Sheriff Detectives located his wife and the juvenile victims as they entered Rapides Parish. She was taken to the Rapides Parish Detention Center. Her bond is set at $2,000.

The juveniles were placed in the care of Louisiana Department of Child and Family Services.

Hauenstein is being charged with 353 counts of pornography with juvenile, 24 counts of indecent behavior with juvenile, 15 counts of sexual battery, and 28 counts of aggravated insect.

Rice-Hauenstein is being charged with one count obstruction of justice and two counts of accessory after the fact.

According to RPSO, this has been an ongoing investigation and it started with Dorothy Jean Vanasselberg, 31, of Elmer back in July, for allegedly having pornography of a minor in her possession.

She was arrested on one count of pornography involving a juvenile, one count of indecent behavior with a juvenile, one count of aggravated incest and  one count of aggravated sexual battery.

Sheriff William Earl Hilton of RPSO says he commends RPSO and U.S. Marshalls involved on this case.

"This type of crime is one of the most disturbing we have to investigate.  I would like to commend our detectives and the U S Marshals for their diligence in tracking these suspects down and getting these children out of this environment," said Sheriff William Earl Hilton.

The investigation is ongoing.
