UPDATE: APD shooting investigation

 ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – The Alexandria Police Department says they have arrested a man for the shootings that occurred on Fenner Street in Alexandria on Wednesday.

According to APD, detectives have arrested Isaiah Anthony, 17 of Alexandria. He is being charged with one count of first degree murder.

The shooting was said to be linked to a previous altercation between Anthony and the victim Demarcus Green, 28 of Alexandria.

Green was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

According to APD, the shooting happened around 1:26 p.m. Wednesday near the 1300 block of Fenner.

A car crash also occured shortly after the shooting on Lee Street. According to witnesses, a vehicle hit a fence near the fire department, then struck a utility pole and finally hit a building.

Sources tell us that the Fenner shooting and the car accident on Lee Street are connected.

The investigation is ongoing.

According to APD, the shooting happened around 1:26 p.m. Wednesday.

Police surrounded Lee Street this morning due to reports of a car hitting a utility pole. Sources tell us that the Fenner shooting and the car accident on Lee Street are connected. 

According to witnesses, a vehicle hit a fence near the fire department, then struck a utility pole and finally hit a building.

We believe at least one person has been taken to the hospital.  The injuries are unknown at this time.

We are awaiting more details at this time.
