Alexandria man arrested for robbery

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – An Alexandria man has been arrested for robbery.

According to APD, they have arrested Dejuan Sykes, 28 for robbing an individual in 3500 block of Lee Street on Wednesday around 12:22 a.m.

Officers said they were given the description of the suspect and the vehicle he was in. Shortly afterward, officers observed the vehicle in the North Third Street area.

They attempted to stop the vehicle, but the vehicle fled.  Following a pursuit, the vehicle came to at the intersection of Levin and Chester.

 Dejuan Sykes was taken to the Rapides Parish Detention Center. He is being charged with one count armed robbery, one count aggravated flight from an officer, one count resisting an officer, and one count possession of CDS Sch II narcotics.

 The investigation is ongoing.
