Two SU students shot to death near New Orleans

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -With classes beginning in just a few days, the Southern University family will be starting the semester with heavy hearts.

Two SU students were killed near New Orleans Monday night and investigators are still trying to figure out what happened.

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office said Nikiayh Westerfield and David Harrison, both 19, were found shot to death in Harvey.

According to WWL, deputies said they found guns and drugs inside their SUV. Both victims were chemical engineering students at Southern with clean records.

Detectives believe a third person fled from the vehicle. They're asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
