Disturbance 92-L continues in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico. The system is comprised of a tropical wave with an axis along 91 degrees west longitude and a weak surface low near 21.5 degrees north latitude. This position is about 120 miles north-northwest of Campeche, Mexico or about 615 miles south of Lake Charles. 92-L is moving toward the west and northwest.
This system is now over the southwestern Gulf and conditions favor only modest strengthening. The low-level portion of the system will head toward Mexico and south Texas while a piece of the system aloft moves north and northeast. It is a complex scenario, but the bottom line for central Louisiana is the return of moisture and scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.
