NSU will join BPCC for Back to School bash

NATCHITOCHES, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – NSU will sponsor Back to School Bash with BPCC on August 22.

Northwestern State University will join Bossier Parish Community College in hosting a Back to School Back from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. August 22 in the quad at BPCC.

"NSU will provide food for the students from Savoie's Catering, as well as giving out transfer information and giveaways," said Melanie McBride, assistant director of university recruiting for transfer and graduate students. "BPCC provides fun and entertaining events throughout the day like rock climbing, mechanical bull riding and much more, so it is a fun event all around and the students are always so appreciate."

Northwestern State and BPCC have agreements in place which allow students to take classes through BPCC on NSU's Natchitoches campus as well as take classes through Northwestern on the BPCC Bossier City campus.

"It is important to reach out to these students because we have always had such a great working relationship with BPCC. We get our highest number of transfer students from there so we always want to do our best to keep recruiting them," McBride said.

"Northwestern's sponsorship of our Back to School Bash is a huge welcome to the Fall 2013 class at BPCC," said Jim Henderson, BPCC chancellor. "We get to have a little fun while showcasing one of the most robust higher education partnerships in the nation."
