Alexandria man arrested for vehicle burglary

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5 ) – Police have arrested a man on a bicycle for burglary.

According to Alexandria Police Department, they have arrested Donald Lair, 31 of Alexandria, for one count of simple burglary.

APD said they were dispatched on August 18, to the 1700 block of Elliot Street in reference to a vehicle burglary. The victim said that while at work she saw a male subject inside her vehicle. When she confronted the man he fled on a bicycle.

The victim gave a description of the burglar to police. Through further investigation, APD located Lair on the 300 block of Rosewood.

Lair was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
