NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Authorities have arrested a man suspected of calling in more than 40 bomb threats to the New Orleans Police Department this month.

A criminal complaint filed Wednesday in federal court accuses the suspect, Jahvar Hooks, of making threats against schools, hotels, casinos and government buildings during a series of 911 calls between Aug. 12 and Aug. 19. Two New Orleans courthouses were evacuated and searched following calls.

Hooks was arrested Monday after he allegedly used a pay phone to call in a threat against a hotel. Investigators used surveillance video from a nearby store to identify Hooks as the suspect.
An FBI agent's affidavit says Hooks told investigators that he had been prescribed medication to treat his unspecified "mental health issues."
