ALEXANDRIA, La. (News Channel 5 ) – A second chance may not have helped an Alexandria woman turn over a new leaf.

According to Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office, they have arrested Nicole Damone Leach, 32, of Alexandria, for a second time in reference to burglary.

Leach was first arrested on August 14th for allegedly dressing up in scrubs and posing as a health sitter in order to target homes to burglarize.

A jewelry box was reported missing from a residence on August 6th.  Deputies said they located the jewelry box at a pawn shop on August 12th. It was there they were able to gather a description and determine Leach as a prime suspect.  Later that day, deputies received a call of another home burglary, and again a jewelry box was stolen.

On August 14th, Leach was arrested for the burglaries and charged with theft for $500 and for possession of stolen goods worth $300. She was later released on $750 bond.

It wasn't very long, before she was back in the slammer.  On August 23th, Leach was taken back into custody, and burglary of a dwelling was added to her other list of charges.

RPSO said that Leach is believed to be responsible for a series of burglaries that have occurred in the area.

"If anyone has had a burglary that they have not reported or had contact with Leach coming by their homes in the last several weeks, we encourage them to call our Detectives at 318-473- 6727.  We are still investigating this suspect and believe there may be more crimes that she has committed" said Sheriff William Earl Hilton.

Leach was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center.  Her bond is set at $500,000.

The investigation is ongoing.
