In the Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean, there is an area of interest that we are monitoring for further development in the Atlantic Basin.
A tropical wave is located only a few hundred miles SW of the Cape Verde Islands. This wave will continue to move to the West (over the Tropical Atlantic at about 15mph) during the next several days. As it nearly crosses the entire Atlantic Ocean the probability of development will stay low. However as this wave approaches the Windward, conditions will improve for possible development (just East of the Windward Islands).
There is a MEDIUM chance (30%) of this Tropical Wave becoming a Tropical Cyclone during the next 5 days.
Elsewhere, development is not expected during the next 48 hours.
