Two teens arrested for allegedly stealing vehicles from a car lot

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – Two  teens have been arrested for allegedly stealing two vehicles from a car lot.

According to Alexandria Police Department, they have arrested Dacruis Smith, 18 of Alexandria, and a juvenile for stealing a 2008 GMC and 2009 Nissan off a car lot.

Officers said they were dispatched to a car lot in reference to vehicle theft. The officers found that the two vehicles were taken. The investigation led to the Nissan being spotted near Pecan and Mil Mar Drive. It was there that a traffic stop was conducted. Smith and the juvenile were in the car. They were both taken into custody.

He was charged with one count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and one count contributing to delinquency of a juvenile. The juvenile was charged with one unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

The stolen GMC was located in the 3000 Block of Culpepper.

Dacruis Smith was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
