Fugitive captured in New Orleans

BATON ROUGE, La. (KALB News Channel 5 ) – Authorities have captured a wanted fugitive in New Orleans.

According to Attorney General Buddy Caldwell, Joseph Marrone, 43, was arrested Tuesday by agents with the Attorney General's Fugitive Apprehension and High Technology Crime Units in New Orleans. Authorities have been searching for Marrone for almost a year.

In September 2012, the Mandeville Police Department requested assistance from the FAU in locating Marrone.  Marrone was wanted for theft of a motor vehicle. He was also wanted by the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office for three counts of felony theft and by Stafford County, Virginia for felony probation violation.  

Marrone was taken to the Orleans Parish Prison.
