Funeral services for a political figure

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5 ) -Funeral services were held Thursday for a local man who made political service part of his life.

Darrell Williamson a former Rapides parish police juror and Alexandria city employee passed away Monday.  Williamson served two years on the police jury back in the eighties. 

He was also a fixture in Alexandria Mayor Ned Randolph's administration.  He served various positions including chief administrative officer and director of public works. 

Most recently he was a project manager for Meyer, Meyer Labroid (la-croy), and Hixson consulting engineers of Louisiana.  Williamson was sixty eight years old.
