Two arrested for allegedly drinking and doing drugs in vehicle

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – It's a date to remember, when a couple is caught in a car with no headlights, daiquiri drinks, Methadone pills and marijuana.

According to Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office, they have arrested John LaCour, 28, of Alexandria, and Mariah Wyllie, 18, of Tioga, for possession of drugs, underage drinking and open containers in a vehicle.

Deputies observed a vehicle without headlights on Fenner Street in Alexandria on the night of August 28th. They initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle drove a few blocks and paused. It drove a few blocks more and then finally came to a complete stop.  

Deputies said when they tried to speak with the driver, LaCour, they noticed a smell. The smell was said to be suspected marijuana. The deputies also said they observed two open containers suspected to be daiquiri drinks. The passenger, Wyllie was allegedly drinking one of the daiquiris.

Assisting units located suspected methadone pills dumped on the ground where LaCour briefly stopped, before his final stop.

LaCour and Wyllie were taken into custody and transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center.

LaCour is charged with possession of CDS II, resisting arrest by flight, open container, and contributing to the delinquency/alcohol

Wyllie is charged with possession CDS II, open container, and probation warrant. The probation warrant stems from an active warrant through the Pineville Police Department.
