Tip leads to two arrests for vandalism

GRANT PARISH, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – Two have been arrested for allegedly vandalizing logging equipment.

According to Grant Parish Sheriff's Office, they have arrested Harley Arledge, 18, of Olla, and James Beckley III, 19, of Georgetown, for vandalizing logging equipment near Georgetown.

GPSO recently asked the public for their assistance on the vandalized logging equipment in the Georgetown area.

Sheriff Steven McCain says it was a tip that helped lead to the arrest of these two men.

"This is a perfect example of the community and law enforcement working together," said Sheriff Steven McCain.

Arledge was arrested for simple arson, criminal mischief, and two counts of criminal damage to property.  His bond was set at $40,000.

Beckley III was arrested for simple Arson, criminal Mischief, and criminal damage to property.  His bond was set at $35,500.

The Grant Parish Sheriff's Office worked in conjunction with the Department of Agriculture and Forestry on this case.
