Autumn Art Walk Planned

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - The Arts Council of Central Louisiana will hold the Autumn 2013 ArtWalk in the Cultural Arts District of Downtown Alexandria.

The ArtWalk will be held on Friday, October 18 from 4:00PM – 9:00PM and on Saturday, October 19 from 9:00AM – 4:00PM.

This is a free, family-oriented walking tour that features visual artists from throughout Central Louisiana as well as live entertainment.  Whether you would like to showcase your handmade art or shop for some unique finds, there will be something for everyone!

This year, we will have a Tarzan theme to promote the original 1918 film, Tarzan of the Apes, which will be shown on October 29 at the Coughlin-Saunders Performing Arts Center.  There will be many Tarzan-related activities during the ArtWalk that range from a Tarzan Yell Contest to face-painting the various animals found in the jungle!  You may even be able to see some live animals!  Feel free to dress up in any Tarzan/Jungle/Animal related costume you want.  There will be an award for the best-dressed!

For more information, visit www.louisiana-arts.org, or call Anna Brooks at 318-484-4471.
