Alexandria man arrested for vehicle burglary

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – An Alexandria man has been arrested for allegedly breaking into two vehicles in the same night.

According to Alexandria Police Department, they have arrested Jermaine M. Mitchell, 31, of Alexandria, for vehicle burglaries that allegedly occurred on the evening of September 5.

APD said they were dispatched to two residences near Albert Street. Detectives were assigned the case and through their investigation they determined Mitchell as their primary suspect.

On September 6, detectives located Mitchell at his home on Hope Street and took him into custody. Mitchell was transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center.

He is charged with one count of simple burglary and two counts of attempted simple burglary.

Mitchell's bond is set at $3,500.

He has been booked 20 times into the Rapides Parish system.
