NSU to host faculty art exhibition

NATCHITOCHES, La. (KALB News Channel 5) – NSU annual faculty art exhibition to run through September 20.

Northwestern State University's Department of Fine and Graphic Art is hosting a faculty exhibition that will run through September 20 in Orville Hanchey Gallery's upstairs space. A reception for the artists will be from 5-7 p.m. on September 16.

The annual faculty art exhibition showcases work by professors of art in a variety of mediums, including paintings by Clyde Downs, photography by Brooks Defee, sculpture by Matt DeFord, graphic design by Mirla and Dave Martinez, handmade furniture by Michael Yankowski and basketry by Leslie Gruesbeck. Graduate assistants Annabel Fiske Jones and Jeremy Jones also have work included in the exhibition.

Hanchey Gallery is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Monday-Thursday and from 8 a.m.-noon on Fridays. The exhibition will travel to Angelina College in Lufkin, Texas, in October. For more information call (318) 357-5476.
