Lecompte man arrested for battery and false imprisonment

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB News Channel 5) - An Lecompte man has been arrested for alleged battery and holding a person against their will.

According to Alexandria Police Department, they have arrested Mikel C. Robinson, 31,  for battery and holding a victim hostage during a domestic altercation.

Officers were dispatched around 4:15 p.m. on Sept. 9, to a residence on Jube Street in reference to battery. Officers said, the investigation found that during a domestic related altercation, a victim was battered and was not allowed to leave the residence.

Robinson fled on foot upon police's arrival. Assisting officers quickly located Robinson in the Goodland Trace area. He was taken into custody and transported to Rapides Parish Detention Center.

He is charged with one count of false imprisonment, one count simple battery and one count resisting arrest.

The investigation is ongoing.
